Château de Chenonceau is the most visited and photographed château of the Loire Valley. The current château was built in 1514–1522 on the foundations of an old mill and was later extended to span the river. This picture was taken from one of the lesser known public footpaths on the opposite bank to the main entrance, which is visible on the left.
