The photograpgh was taken in the winding waterways of the large fan-shaped delta of the Orinoco river in eastern Venezuela before it reaches the sea. In these waters and the surrounding vegetation we were looking out for capuchin monkeys, parrots, toucans and other exotic birds and piranah and snakes in the water.

This sunset scene with the tropical rainforest reflected in the still water evokes a feeling of calm against the background clicks and schreeches of insects and mammals as the jungle settles for the night.
