Lavender Bay is a harbourside suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney with expansive views of Sydney Harbour. It was named after the boatswain George Lavender from the prison ship Phoenix, which was moored there for many years. This iconic view was taken from one of the taller hotels overlooking Lavender Bay and downtown Sydney with Luna Park and Sydney Harbour Bridge on the left.
