The whole area in the Haukadalur valley is a geothermal park from which sulphur gas and hissing steam constantly emerge. This area is just a few hundred metres from the Strokkur Geysir.

Taken against the sun, this picture was virtually monochromatic. The remaining colour has been removed in post-processing and replaced with a single amber hue.
