The famous Pierrot statue is the mascot for Spa Monopole, the world-renowned mineral water company based in the town. Originally designed by French illustrator Jean d'Ylen in the 1920s, the cheerful character leaping over a water-spouting spring became an iconic emblem of the city itself. These form a walking trail around the town for visitors.
